Marin Real Estate Market Update for Summer 2026

July 3, 2026

Marin Market Update:

Summer 2026

What a fun few weeks! The World Cup energy has been electric, and with the U.S. advancing to the Round of 16, there's plenty to celebrate! America's 250th birthday is just around the corner, and here in the Bay, we're in for something special: fireworks from the Golden Gate Bridge, a sight that's only happened twice before.

June flew by—for many of us, in the fog! With my youngest daughter graduating from Redwood High School, this past month was full of "lasts": last games, last student government meetings, and my last time on campus as a school parent. Bittersweet, for sure. It was wonderful having family here to celebrate and reconnecting with longtime friends and neighbors. The emotions were mixed, but there was also so much joy in celebrating her and looking ahead to the next chapter.

The rhythm of the school year has now shifted, the routine has relaxed a bit, and we've been soaking up the first weeks of summer. I hope you are too!

Marin Real Estate Market Update

With summer now here, the real estate market in Marin may quiet down a bit. Generally, around the end of the school year, buyer interest falls off as summer vacations begin and people travel for the Fourth of July holiday.

In late May and June, Marin County homes moved quickly at an average of just 13 days, 23% faster than last May. If you're thinking of selling, indications are this demand will hold for some time. Take this short window while the market may quiet down to prepare your home. Well-appointed homes are what buyers want, and there is solid demand for updated, turnkey homes. If you're buying, it is important to have strong financing lined up, and gaining access to off-market properties can give you a clear advantage.
